Egg Donor Criteria
To donate eggs, you must be between the ages of 21 and 31 years old. We will not contact you if you are 32 years of age or older. You must be a non-smoker for at least three full months. You are required to maintain a normal weight for your height and have a body mass index (BMI) under 30. You must, at a minimum, possess a high school diploma, but college education is highly preferred. You are not eligible to donate eggs if you or any members of your family have a genetic disease or birth defect. You are also ineligible to donate if you have a history of sexually transmitted diseases. You must have access to all family medical history, including grandparents and be in good overall health. We are unable to use donors that are insured under the Medicaid program. If you meet these criteria, you may qualify as an egg donor for our facility.

If you decide that egg donation is something you would like to pursue, please contact our donor coordinator at 616-988-2229 ext. 131. She can review the donation process with you and answer your questions. Then she will get the appropriate forms to you to complete.
Once we receive your medical records, donor medical history form and picture(s), we will review it and determine if you meet our donor criteria. We will also evaluate whether or not we feel we would be able to successfully match you with our recipient patients. You will be notified if you have been selected to begin the screening process.
We cannot guarantee that we will be able to match you with a recipient on our waiting list, but will attempt to match you for at least six months after you’ve completed the necessary appointments.
You will be required to have FDA screening lab testing done (HIV, Hepatitis B & C, hormone tests and cervical cultures for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea) once you are matched. If these are abnormal in any way, the FDA mandates that we cannot use you as an egg donor.
We also cannot accept any donor into our program that is currently taking antidepressant or ADHD medications.
